art therapy

where creativity meets self-discovery

Art therapy collective

As a collaborative practice of two art therapists, we’re creating a space where people can feel safe, seen, and supported while exploring themselves through the creative process. Together, we’re nurturing a practice grounded in curiosity, care, and the belief that healing can come from reconnecting with art and returning to ourselves.

Art therapy FAQs

Welcome to our FAQ section! If you have questions, feel free to explore the following to learn more about art therapy and how it can benefit you.

What is art therapy?

Art therapy is a mental health practice that uses artmaking to help people explore their emotions, experiences, and relationships. It engages the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and supports individuals and communities in building resilience, self-awareness, and connection.

Particularly supportive for those who have experienced trauma, art therapy offers a non-verbal, sensory-rich pathway to healing. It invites the body into the therapeutic process, allowing story and emotion to emerge beyond language.

Working with images and symbols can bring unconscious material to the surface while also creating space for empowerment, play, and pleasure.

Can I participate in art therapy if I'm not an artist?

Yes—absolutely! You don’t need any art experience to take part in art therapy. The focus isn’t on making “good” art, but on using the creative process to explore, express, and connect.

Art therapy is about what the art means to you, not technical skill level or how it looks. Everyone is welcome, regardless of skill or background.

Guided by trained art therapists, this practice offers a safe, supportive space to heal, grow, play, and communicate beyond words.

How does art therapy work online?

Online art therapy works much like

in-person sessions, but from the comfort of your own space using your own materials!

You’ll connect with your therapist over a secure video platform to create and explore your art together.

The key is to have a quiet, confidential space where you feel safe and free from distractions. A few basic art supplies and whatever you need to feel comfortable is all you need to get started.
